Sheriff - Mike Jolley - Mike lives in Hamilton.  He is retired from the United States Army and in his 4th term as the Harris County Sheriff.  During his time in office, the sheriff's office has made great strides in providing tough but personal law enforcement to the county.  We have a solve rate for crimes that is above the national average, and the District Attorney says he loves prosecuting cases in the county because of the outstanding job the sheriff's department does with gathering evidence and processing cases.  He wants to be able to keep the personal touch in enforcement, and feels he definitely can in the short term.  As the county changes with the addition of new residents from BRAC and KIA, that may have to change.  He has a very loyal group of deputies with little turnover in the department.  He's added 5 new deputies recently, and is currently working to put one deputy at the high school.  E-mail: jolleymike@excite.com

Clerk of Superior Court - Stacy Haralson – Stacy is just finishing her first term as Clerk of Superior Court. The Clerk’s office has made great strides since her election, particularly in the area of automation. They have linked the case management system, automated real estate records, placed deed images on line and created a web site (www.harrisclerkofcourt.com) to provide county residents easy access to the office and products.

Commission District 4- Harry Lange – Harry lives in Coca Lake. He is retired and in his second term a District 4 County Commissioner. At the present time he also serves as Chairman of the Commission. During his time on the commission he feels they have done a very good job of controlling taxes and have actually reduced the millage rate below what it was when he took office. As we look down the road to the changes the county can expect from BRAC and the KIA plant, he feels we will have to develop more of a business base in order to keep taxes low. Although he feels growth is coming and economic development will be an important addition to the county, he wants to concentrate that growth so it doesn’t impact the current population. He has been actively involved in bringing new business to our business parks, the purchase of the railroad that runs along Route 27, pulling more water from the Chattahoochee, keeping and upgrading the airport, purchasing the land for the Northwest Harris Business Park and wants to put a recreation center in the next SPLOST. He is pro-growth, but only if it is “wise growth.” E-mail: traildad31804@yahoo.com. Telephone: 706-596-8836.

Commission District 5- Joey Loudermilk - Joey lives in Ellerslie. As a lawyer for 30 years and General Counsel for AFLAC, he would like to use his experience and contacts with state and national political figures as a member of the commission. As a long time county resident, he is vitally interested in what happens to the county. He feels the number one issue we face is growth. We are one of the fastest growing counties in the state, and if we do not manage the growth that is coming, we will not have the county we want or the quality of life we expect. He would work closely with the chamber of commerce to stop money from leaving the county and allow it to be spent here as a means of keeping our tax money in the county - E-mail: joeyloudermilk@yahoo.com
